Dues FAQs

• How do I renew online?

  Our online renewal page is here. Please note: Online renewal for active members is only available during renewal season, which begins on the first Monday in August, and runs until the deadline of each year.

• Where do I find my password?

  On our NVAR.com homepage, in the top right hand corner, click on "Please click here to log in." On this page you click the link "Forgot your Password or NRDS ID?" under the "Log In" button. On the next page, enter your last name and email address (this email address must match the one in your NVAR file). Click "Retrieve Login Information" and an email will be sent directly to you.

• Can I change my password?

  Login to the NVAR Members Only section of our website at NVAR.com/Login, using your existing login credentials. Then click the "Edit Membership Info" box. There you can edit your member data, including your password. Items in red cannot be left blank. Once your edits have been completed, click "Submit" at the bottom of the page. Please note that some fields, such as your name and your broker office details, are not editable by members. Only the NVAR Membership Department can do that.

  To make changes in these fields, please forward a completed Broker Transfer  Form with your new details to membership@nvar.com.

• Can I make multiple payments?

  NVAR collects the dues fees for all three associations­ NAR, Virginia Realtors® and NVAR-and disburses the monies by a certain date. For this reason, we require payment in full.

• Do I have to pay VAR and NAR?

  Yes; being a member of a local association also requires state and national membership.

• If I elect to invest in NV/RPAC, when do I receive recognition?

  NV/RPAC is a voluntary investment and is not a requirement.

  Note: The NV/RPAC fundraising year is aligned with the calendar year. Investments made on your dues bill will be credited and recognized for the year in which they are collected.

• Can I save my credit card on file?

  Paying is now easier than ever. NVAR has recognized the need for easy and quick check-out options. Save your payment for future purchases; click and pay from here on out.

• Can I pay for my spouse, too?

  To pay dues for another person, you must login to the Members Only section using that person's username and password in order to have access to his/her invoiced account.

• I didn't know my dues were due. I didn't receive the email. Can you waive the late fee?

  Email is not the only way NVAR reaches out to our members to let them know the dues payment deadlines. In addition to reminder emails being sent on a weekly basis beginning August 1, we have notices posted on our website, text reminders, and on Bright MLS Matrix. With so many different avenues of notification, NVAR is unable to waive the dues late fee of $50, which will apply to all payments received after Sept. 30, 2020. Please mark your calendars so you don't forget to make your payment.

• If I pay my dues and then later put my license into an inactive status can I get a refund?

  No. Dues are nonrefundable. and tax-deductible.

  However, if you decide to join another association, your NAR dues (and VR if you are transferring to another Virginia association) are transferrable if the transfer is within the same calendar year.

• I don't read my emails. Can I get a bill mailed to me?

  No. All invoicing is done online.

• Can I pay my dues on a payment plan?

  NVAR collects the dues fees for all three associations and is responsible for dispersing the monies to the proper organizations by a certain date.

  For this reason, we require payment in full.

• Do I have to contribute to NV/RPAC?

  NV/RPAC is a voluntary investment and is not a requirement.

  Note: The NV/RPAC fundraising year is aligned with the calendar year. Investments made on your dues bill will be credited and recognized for the year in which they are collected.

• Can I get a bill mailed to me?

  In choosing to be environmentally friendly, NVAR has gone completely green.

  All invoicing is now done online.

• What happens if I do not pay in a timely manner?

  Failure to pay your dues by the deadline will result in the deactivation of your membership. There is a $50 late fee placed for late payment after the first month. After the second month, a reactivation fee of $50 is placed in addition to the late fee and existing past due dues payment. 

• Does this payment include my SentriLock payment?

  No, your annual SentriLock payment is made through your SentriLock portal

• What if my membership has lapsed for longer than 12 months?

  If your membership has been inactive for 12 months or longer, then you will need to apply as a new member.

• How do I find my NRDS #?

• What do my dues go toward?

• I just joined, do I need to renew already?

  Yes, Our membership cycle runs from October 1st to September 30th. Please see our Prorated Pricing Chart 

• Are membership dues refundable?

  No, NVAR Membership Dues are non-refundable but are tax deductible
