Alexandria City Council approved Fiscal Year 2023 budget, up nearly 9% from 2022
The Alexandria City Council Wednesday unanimously adopted a Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 General Fund Operating Budget of $839,213,971, which represents an 8.9% increase from the FY 2022 budget. The adopted budget does not include a tax rate increase.

Arlington County Board Adopts $1.5B Budget, Tax Rate To Stay Same

Fairfax County adopts budget with lower tax rate for homeowners

’s Board of Supervisors on Tuesday adopted a budget that lowers the residential property tax rate by three cents, part of an effort in Northern Virginia to help residents deal with the area’s rising cost of living. The $4.8 billion spending plan, adopted on a 9-1 vote, will lower the county’s tax rate for homes to $1.11 per $100 of assessed value.

Fairfax City’s newly adopted FY 23 budget fulfills City Council’s goals and directives. But more important for the residents, it reduces their real-estate tax rate by 6-1/2 cents. When City Manager Rob Stalzer unveiled his proposed budget in February, he initially recommended trimming that tax rate from its current $1.075 per $100 assessed valuation to $1.035. But the figure adopted last Tuesday, May 3, reduced it even further to $1.01.

Following two public hearings and ongoing input from town residents and business owners, the Herndon Town Council has adopted a Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Budget of $57,331,154, a 2.9 percent increase from the adopted FY 2022 Budget. The town’s FY 2023 begins July 1, 2022 and extends to June 30, 2023.

Prince William Board of County Supervisors Adopts FY2023 Budget
The Prince William Board of County Supervisors adopted the Fiscal Year (FY) 2023 Budget during their meeting on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. the Board reduced the real estate tax rate from $1.115 to $1.03 per $100 of assessed value, while also reducing the fire levy rate from $0.08 to $0.075 per $100 of assessed value.

Loudoun County supervisors adopt fiscal 2023 budget
Approximately $3.5 billion in total appropriations are included in the budget for the Loudoun County government and school system for fiscal 2023. The budget includes a real property tax rate of $0.89 per $100 in assessed value for tax year 2022, which is 9 cents lower than the current tax rate. The adopted budget also includes a personal property tax rate of $4.15 per $100 in assessed value in tax year 2023, which is 5 cents lower than the current rate.
