Congress narrowly avoided a shutdown of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) on September 30 by passing a short-term funding extension—the 13th short term extension in 2 years.

National Flood Insurance Program Update

Congress narrowly avoided a shutdown of the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) on September 30 by passing a short-term funding extension—the 13th short term extension in 2 years. NFIP again faces shutdown on November 21 without further Congressional action.  Realtors® are urging Congress to resume working toward a long-term re-authorization of the National Flood Insurance Program.
