This course provides real estate professionals with fundamental knowledge of government structures, the legislative process, and effective advocacy strategies. Participants will gain practical skills to engage with policymakers at all levels of government and advocate for issues impacting the real estate industry and property rights.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the key governmental bodies and officials that impact real estate at local, state, and federal levels
- Explain the legislative process and how to track bills relevant to real estate
- Describe various advocacy tools including lobbying, PACs, and grassroots mobilization
- Develop a personal advocacy plan to engage with policymakers effectively
- Identify current policy priorities for the real estate industry in Virginia
