NVAR members gathered to participate in an educational COBRA Self-Defense class on Wednesday, September 6, at NVAR Fairfax. The event was a resounding success, thanks to the dedicated instructor, Jessica Hansen, and the invaluable support of our strategic partners.

The class covered a wide range of topics, each designed to enhance personal safety and build confidence in the face of potential threats. Some of the topics covered were awareness skills, preventative defense, escape techniques, voice confidence, and much more.

Members had the opportunity to take part in safe and immersive simulations and learned how to correctly deescalate potentially dangerous situations.

The COBRA Self-Defense class serves as a reminder of Realtor® Safety Month, a vital annual checkpoint that urges real estate professionals to assess and enhance their personal safety. The COBRA Self-Defense class, held during this month, reinforces the message that safety is a non-negotiable aspect of the real estate profession and empowers Realtors® to take steps toward protecting themselves while working for their clients and communities.
