What is at Stake in the 2023 Election
2023 is a major election year in Northern Virginia and across the Commonwealth. Redistricting and a large number of incumbent retirements have led to an unprecedented number of open and contested races. The turnover we will see in the General Assembly, combined with multiple new members in local governments of Arlington and Fairfax make building new and sustaining existing elected official relationships all the more important in 2023. Each of these elected bodies will be vastly different in 2024. In the case of the General Assembly, hundreds of years of combined experience will be lost in 2023. The decisions we make in the June 20 Primary will have political impacts for years to come.
