How Can State and Local Laws Better Serve the Real Estate Industry?

05/08/2020

The NVAR Public Policy Committee needs to hear from you!

2020 has been an extraordinary year. Many of us have been forced to adapt to new ways of doing business during these difficult times. Some of these changes will certainly be temporary, but others may permanently alter the way we operate.

Please respond today and tell us how you believe laws could be amended to benefit the real estate industry, protect consumers or to preserve private property rights.

Submit an idea for legislation to GOVAFFAIRS@NVAR.COM before May 20, 2020. Please include any documentation or background information in support of the proposal.

The development of the Legislative Program is a multi-step process conducted by NVAR’s Realtor® members. It begins when NVAR members submit issues to the Legislative Program Task Force for consideration. The Task Force’s recommendations are sent to the full Public Policy Committee for further vetting. Finally, the Public Policy Committee recommends these policy positions to the Board of Directors for approval. NVAR’s adopted Legislative Program is then sent to the Virginia Realtors® as they discuss needed legislation for the General Assembly.

Thank you for your participation in the development of our Legislative Program! Together, we will sustain policies that represent the best interests of NVAR’s members and their clients.

Sincerely,

Shelia Jackson

2020 Chair, NVAR Public Policy Committee
