Passing of the Gavel

NVAR installed 2022 President Reggie Copeland and the 2022 Board of Directors at the Centennial Gala and Installation at the Ritz-Carlton in Tysons. Thanks to all who attended and made the night so special.

April Thomas, CEO of the Realtor® Association of Prince William, served as Installing Officer. Copeland and the Board of Directors took their oath of office in front of more than 300 NVAR members and guests. President Reggie Copeland accepted the “passing of the gavel” from past NVAR Presidents and gave an inspiring speech, thanking his incredible family and encouraging NVAR members to evaluate, educate, and elevate the Realtor® profession.

Dallison Veach was honored with the Good Neighbor Award and Metro Homes DMV earned the Brokerage Spirit Award. The Centennial Leadership Award was given to Christine Richardson and Marriah Unruh. Christine also was awarded membership in the NVAR Hall of Fame. The 2021 NVAR Realtor® of the Year Award was presented to Nicholas Lagos; and PJ Moore of Donofrio Inspections & Associates received the 2021 Affiliate of the Year. Karen Trainor was announced as Honorary Life Member.

In recognition of NVAR’s Centennial year, Delegate David Bulova (37 – Fairfax) presented the association with a plaque bearing the text of Virginia House Joint Resolution no. 622, which he introduced during the Commonwealth’s 2021 legislative session, commending NVAR’s historic milestone.

NVAR also celebrated and honored the 2021 Board of Directors, Leadership Institute Class, Leadership Team and the 2020 member of the Top Producer’s Club.

This has been an extraordinary year celebrating how Northern Virginia Realtors ® have influenced the region for the past 100 years to create today's thriving marketplace. In 2021, we honored the past with decade-themed festivities; we celebrated the present by meeting members where they are to deliver innovative programs, resources and services in an unprecedented market. And this marks the beginning of the next century to come, in which NVAR will be a stronger, more nimble and future-focused organization helping members to shape the future of real estate.

This event welcomed the 2022 Leadership Team, drawing excitement for the year ahead. We can’t wait to see what’s in store the next 100 years of NVAR!
