Bright MLS is the name of the Multiple Listing Service for Northern Virginia. Bright MLS provides subscribers with access to listing information for a larger geographic area, modern, easy-to-use systems and apps to serve your clients and run your business, and a comprehensive ecosystem of robust property information and analytics.

Bright Off-MLS Policy Resource Guide

UPDATED 4/22/2020: In accordance with NAR's Clear Cooperation Policy 8.0, Bright MLS has updated its guidance on the Office Exclusive Policy. Office Exclusive Listings may not be Publicly Marketed. Any listings that are Publicly Marketed must be entered into the MLS within one (1) business day of Public Marketing. "Public Marketing" specifically means any communication with any real estate agents or members of the public outside of the listing brokerage firm, including one-to-one communications, emails, phone calls, text, social media and online posts.

Bright MLS is one of the most popular NVAR member benefits but there are many tools within Bright that you might be underutilizing! Have you heard of RentSpree? RentSpree helps you gather completed rental applications and tenant screening reports online within minutes.

To use RentSpree you invite interested lease applicants to apply by sharing a LeaseLink™ via email or text! Applicants then complete all the required information and authorize their screening reports to be shared with you. You will then receive an email notification for each applicant. You can review or print these reports.

For you as an agent, you get the benefit of having access to online rental applications, credit reports and score, criminal background checks, eviction reports, and identity verification.

Applicants benefit because it doesn’t damage their credit scores, is user and mobile friendly, secures their information, and has access to dedicated customer support.
