We are honored to announce that the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® (NVAR) has once again earned DIAMOND status, the highest level of recognition within the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Global Achievement Program! This is NVAR’s third time being certified with their status.
This elite status is a powerful affirmation of our commitment to providing NVAR members with the resources, education, and connections necessary to excel in the global real estate marketplace.
What DIAMOND Status Means
The NAR Global Achievement Program is designed to recognize and reward the most active associations in global business. Among the over 130 global business councils nationwide, DIAMOND-status organizations have demonstrated the utmost commitment to:
- Helping members capture a share of the global real estate market in the United States.
- Connecting their council and members to the global community in their local area.
The program divides participating councils into four status classifications: Silver, Gold, Platinum, and the highest honor, Diamond. Our recertification reflects a sustained, high-level effort from our volunteer leaders and staff.
The NVAR Global Difference: Our 2025 Successes
Our success is driven by the dedication of our members, especially those involved in the Global Leadership Advisory Group (GLAG) and our vibrant Cultural Forums.
The GLAG is a dynamic leadership body comprised of the Chairs and Vice-Chairs from NVAR’s Cultural Forums, including the Hispanic Realtors® Forum, Asian American Realtor® Forum, African American Realtor® Forum, International Business Forum, and the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Group. These Forums ensure all members have a place to find community and build success.
Notable 2025 Accomplishments include:
- Launch of a Quarterly Global E-Newsletter: NVAR is keeping our international partners informed about real estate trends taking place in the United Stats, ways to engage with NVAR, virtual educational opportunities, and more.
- Launch of New Global Scholarship Program: This year NVAR launched a pilot program to offer scholarships to members travelling to learn and promote global real estate. The purpose of this scholarship is to help offset costs associated with travel to international conferences to assist members grow theirs and NVAR’s network. These scholarships were reviewed and approved by NVAR’s Global Leadership Advisory Group. This year’s recipients are: Ahmed Gomaa, Mario Rubio, Mariana Koegel, Adeniyi Tinubu, and Betty Arguello.
- First Inbound Trade Mission in 10+ Years Hosting the Philippines: In 2024, NVAR signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Philippines Chamber of Real Estate Builders’ Associations (CREBA). CREBA expressed interest in visiting Northern Virginia to learn more about the real estate market and investment opportunities. Through a multi-day program, we held an information exchange at NVAR’s Fairfax Office, did tours in Loudoun County, and visited The Philippines Embassy in Washington DC. NVAR hopes to host more trade missions like this to help grow real estate opportunities locally and globally.
- Continued Educational Programming and Networking Opportunities for Our Members: These committees host a myriad of educational and networking sessions throughout the year.
Our Global Footprint
NVAR is committed to building strategic, international partnerships that open doors for our members. We currently hold MOUs with real estate associations in nine countries, ensuring our members have an extended network across the globe.
Our current MOU countries include Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Mexico, Philippines, and Vietnam.
As we move forward into the next status year, which begins at NAR’s REALTORS® Conference & Expo, we are committed to strengthening communication and engagement with all of our MOU partners to ensure NVAR members can leverage these important global connections.
Thank you to every member and volunteer who contributes to making our Association a global resource!
