Bright MLS Policy Changes | Tenatively October 14

New Listing Entry Options

On July 22, Bright updated their rules requiring the deadline to enter listings in Bright MLS to two calendar days from the time the agreement is fully executed (client and broker signatures).

Tentatively on October 14, 2026*,  Bright MLS is expected to update their platform to reflect new Listing Status Categories.

Registered: For properties not yet ready to market or publicly advertise in any way.   This status would be used for listings signed early, for future on the market dates.

Ready To Market: This is for properties that will be publicly marketed. After “Ready to Market” is selected, one of the following statuses would be chosen: “Active,” “Coming Soon,” or “Office Exclusive” status.

Seller Authorizations

Current Authorizations: Bright has four items a seller must authorize related to internet marketing. These authorizations are for display of property address, display of unedited comments on consumer sites, availability of automated valuation models, and the ability to suppress photos at closing.

New Authorizations: Tentatively on October 14, 2026*, Bright will be adding additional authorizations:
