UPDATE: Bright MLS Policy Changes | Effective July 22

On July 22, Bright MLS launched a couple of updates to their policies, with additional updates coming late September. Here is what you need to know about the most recent update:

Note: If the listing is ready to be marketed to potential buyers at the time the agreement is signed, it should be entered as “Active,” “Coming Soon,” or “Office Exclusive” within two days of the agreement being executed.

If the listing is not ready to be marketed to potential buyers at the time the agreement is signed, the broker/agent can delay entry to within two days of when the “Active,” “Coming Soon,” or “Office Exclusive” status is applicable OR the “Registered Status” is available. 

Future Changes (Coming late September 2026)

Listing Status

Registered: For properties not yet ready to market or publicly advertise in any way.   This status would be used for listings signed early, for future on the market dates.

Ready To Market: This is for properties that will be publicly marketed. After “Ready to Market” is selected, one of the following statuses would be chosen: “Active”, “Coming Soon” or “Office Exclusive” Status.

Seller Authorizations

New Authorizations: Late September, Bright MLS will be adding four additional authorizations:
