Join the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® for the return of one of our most anticipated and widely attended signature events, the annual Politics & Pancakes Breakfast at INSPIRE26: The REALTOR® Experience. This premier gathering brings together Realtors®, elected leaders, Strategic Partners, business and community leaders, and policy influencers from across Northern Virginia for a morning of insight, conversation, and connection centered on the political, economic, and policy issues shaping our region and nation.
The 2026 program features two nationally recognized voices at the center of today’s housing and public policy conversations. Attendees will hear from bestselling author and journalist Yoni Appelbaum, Deputy Executive Editor of The Atlantic, social and cultural historian, and author of Stuck: How the Privileged and the Propertied Broke the Engine of American Opportunity, for a keynote discussion examining housing mobility, opportunity, local growth debates, and the barriers limiting affordability and economic dynamism in communities across America. Following the keynote, attendees will engage in a live Q&A exploring how these national trends are impacting Northern Virginia and the future of housing policy.
All attendees will receive a complimentary copy of Stuck: How the Privileged and the Propertied Broke the Engine of American Opportunity.
The program will also feature a fireside chat with Shannon McGahn, Executive Vice President and Chief Advocacy Officer for the National Association of REALTORS®, who will provide an inside look at the rapidly evolving political and regulatory environment impacting real estate, housing, and advocacy efforts at the federal level. From housing supply and affordability to tax policy, elections, and industry priorities, this conversation will offer valuable perspective for real estate professionals navigating an increasingly complex landscape.
The morning begins with networking and breakfast alongside local, state, and federal elected officials from across Northern Virginia, making Politics & Pancakes a unique opportunity to connect directly with policymakers and industry leaders in an engaging and informal setting.
