VA Elective CE: 3 hours (Each course listed will give one hour of elective continuing education credit)

Hot Water Heat (1 hour)  The most popular heating system by far is the forced air heating system. There are, however, many homes that still have hot water heat. These are sometimes a challenge for real estate professionals:

  • Some buyers perceive hot water heating to be an obsolete system
  • If the buyer wants air conditioning, a home heated with hot water presents some challenges

It’s true that air conditioning is a challenge but hot water heat in the home should not be a deal breaker. There are many benefits to hot water heat. Furthermore, hot water heat has become more interesting with new options for air conditioning, in floor radiant heat and high efficiency systems.

Wet Basements (1 hour)  This course will investigate why wet basements are a homeowner’s number one problem and what you as a real estate professional should know to help your client in this situation.

New Technologies for the Home (1 hour) In this section, we will cover new home technologies that either sellers have already incorporated into their house, potentially increasing its value, or that buyers might consider for the same reason, as well as for increased comfort and cost savings. We will discuss which new technologies can potentially increase efficiency and reduced energy costs (and a lighter touch on the planet) as well as the pitfalls to avoid when manufacturers/sellers overstate performances.

Cancellation policy applies upon registering for this course.  Cancellation fee is $10.00. No exceptions.
