Mission
The African American Realtor® Forum’s mission is to celebrate and support the NVAR African American Realtor® community through education, networking opportunities, and cultural awareness.
For decades, the NVAR Board of Directors have been exploring ways to better engage expanding marketplace segments of NVAR membership, as well as identify potential future leaders from growing cultural groups within NVAR membership.

According to data from the National Association of Realtors®, African Americans represent the third largest demographic by race within NVAR’s membership. The mission of the NVAR African American Realtor® Forum Advisory Group aligns with NVAR’s Strategic Plan. The forum is dedicated to empowering African American Realtors® and equipping the community with key knowledge and resources. Join us in celebrating diversity, embracing opportunities for growth, and collectively shaping the future of African American representation in the real estate world.

NVAR recommends comprehensive zoning changes and incentives that facilitate the voluntary market-driven production of a wide range of housing choices at all price levels to suit our diverse population, including encouraging mixed-use development.
It is essential that comprehensive plans provide for the development of owner-occupied housing, to meet existing and forecasted housing demand without unreasonable zoning and land use restrictions that lead to increased costs for housing. Updating zoning ordinances and maps to encourage mixed use with higher residential density in existing commercial areas can provide new home ownership opportunities without affecting existing residential neighborhoods.
