The NVAR Leadership Institute is designed to offer appointed members an opportunity to develop and enhance the skills and knowledge they will need to become effective future leaders of the Association. Our goal is to prepare you in finding your place as a volunteer leader. Through the year, you will:
1. Explore various leadership practices for more effective growth and self-awareness;
2. Observe and collaborate with key Association leaders and volunteers;
3. Discover NVAR by learning about industry trends and community matters;
4. Build relationships and connections by hearing from and networking with leaders on all levels;
5. Launch yourself as a leader within the Association.
Your Commitment to the NVAR Leadership Institute: I, the undersigned, understand that my participation in the Leadership Institute is an investment that NVAR makes in its future leaders. I am expected to attend all monthly sessions, as well as additional team project meetings with my classmates (team meetings can take place in off-hours).
My journey begins with the mandatory opening session on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, and the Legislative Bus Trip on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM.
I understand that aside from the mandatory opening session, I am allowed to miss up to two cumulative session days. I understand that absences from more than two sessions shall be construed as a withdrawal from the Leadership Institute forfeiting the ability to attend any remaining sessions and/or graduate. I also understand that any assignment(s)/project request must be completed to graduate. I understand and consent to NVAR and the Leadership Institute publishing my name and/or likeness on the NVAR website, communications and publications, including photographs and video recordings at NVAR and Leadership Institute sessions and events. I understand there is a $250 deposit that is refundable upon completion of the course.
