It is important to encourage your colleagues, business associates (mortgage brokers, appraisers, inspectors, and other service vendors) and family members to register and attend this rally. Please pass along this information using the link above.

Registered rally attendees will be provided, by NAR:

• Breakfast and Lunch at the Rally!
• Backpack, Umbrella, T-shirt!
• $10 Metro Card for non-bus riders only (Provided by NAR)

RALLY SCHEDULE:

Bus Riders: Please see the bus list below for departure times (not yet posted) from various Northern Virginia locations! Buses are scheduled to begin arriving after 8 a.m. at the Rally Staging area.

7:30 a.m. - BREAKFAST & STAGING
- FREE to all registered attendees. Breakfast before the Rally will be served at the Rally staging area, very near the Washington Monument.

9:30 a.m. - RALLY
- After breakfast we will walk to the base of the WASHINGTON MONUMENT for the Rally. (This is a changed location. The Rally is no longer planned for Upper Senate Park!)

11:00 a.m. - LUNCH
- After the Rally, registered participants will receive their box lunch at the staging area.

11:30 a.m. - NAR ‘s MIDYEAR TRADE EXPO
- Board buses to attend the NAR Midyear Trade Expo at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel (map) lower lobby following the Rally.

3:15 p.m. - BUSES DEPART TO NoVA
- Prominent posters and guides will be available to direct you to your correct bus for departure and return to your original pick-up location.

By joining your fellow Realtors® at the Rally, you will help NAR be successful in its legislative agenda:

• Protecting the Mortgage Interest Deduction (see relevant article here)
• Restructuring of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac
• Adequate Access to Mortgage Credit
• Expediting Short Sales
• Extending Flood Insurance

NVAR will provide bus service from various Northern Virginia locations to the Rally. "Bus captains" will be assigned to each bus, to help manage the logistics. PLEASE NOTE: ANYONE MAY RIDE ON ANY BUS! The buses are not designated for specific offices!

The NVAR Korean Forum successfully hosted a press conference announcing Korean Realtors® participation at the NAR Rally To Protect The American Dream on Thursday, May 17.

TV and print reporters attended the meeting at which Chairman Pat Kline, CEO Chris Todd and NVAR Korean Forum leaders and members discussed the issues that are causing Realtors to Rally at the Washington Monument.

The Board of Directors has adopted revised Lockbox Rules and Regulations. Here is a summary of the changes:

• Changes to Section 5 (d) (e) and (f):
  d.   Not to lend the SentriCard® to any person, or to permit the SentriCard® to be used by any person, for any purpose whatsoever, other than actions which are administrative in nature;
  e.   Not to lend the property key to any person, for any purpose whatsoever, or to permit the property key to be used for any purpose by any other person;
  f.    Not to use another Holder’s SentriCard®  for purposes other than administrative in nature;
• DAAR was included in the number of local Associations which have adopted the Rules.
