Having a fully automated smart home may sound like something from the movies, but it's a reality for some residents in Northern Virginia. This past Friday, the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors® (NVAR) Technology & Advisory Group and Realtor® Builder Forum connected with Alarm.com for an annual "Smart Home Tour." The event showcased the latest smart home technology, both on the market and in development, providing Realtors® with access and information to the most innovative home security systems, environmentally friendly appliances, and exciting tech-savvy devices.

NVAR Members had the ability to join virtually or in person, and the tour was led by Alarm.com's Austin Kennedy. From the front door through the bedroom, dining room, shoprealtor_personal_successelectrical room and washing room, Realtors® were provided with an hours' worth of  informative demonstrations on the interconnected technology within the house. Popular with the audience were the cloud-based home security operating system, renewable solar power energy, dimmable lights and automatic blinds in the kitchen, fish-eye security cameras, bedside pressure mats for senior citizens (to send notifications to a caretaker when an individual steps out of bed), and automatic water level detectors that will shut off running water if a leak is detected.

The tour ended with a presentation on the variety of products available and compatible with Alarm.com's AAA Smart Home application. To view a list of upcoming NVAR events, please visit nvar.com/calendar or click here.
