Thank You for Coming to REALTOR® UNITE!

10/13/2023

NVAR's Annual Convention & Expo returned on 10.10.23 to the Northern Virginia Community College Annandale Campus. REALTOR ® UNITE: Celebrate "R" World," celebrated diversity in the real estate industry and the region.

Our sister associations, NAHREP (National Association of Hispanic Real Estate Professionals), the LBGTQ Real Estate Alliance, Asian Real Estate Association (AREAA) , and CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member). Through uniting with these organizations, we had the opportunity to advocate for the field, champion the profession, and embrace the marketplace.

REALTOR ® UNITE featured keynote speakers, a Cultural Marketplace, a Homes Around NOVA immersive exhibit, DXC On-The-Go, and the Hall of Partners Expo.

Realtors® came from around the region to hear from Taniya Nayak, an interior designer from HGTV, who shared with attendees not only her interior design tips but her tips towards living a happy, thankful life.

David Childers, Co-Host of the Tom Ferry Roadmap Tour and CEO of Keeping Current Matters, taught attendees how to reassure homebuyers through research and positive framing.

Dr. Larry J. Saboto briefed the current state of the market and how to navigate it. He also had an exclusive Meet & Greet with NV/RPAC Major Investors where he mingled and signed copies of his latest book.

Some other sessions that had our members talking about were the 2024 Market Update and Projection, Top Producing Agents Panel Podcast, and Social Media Strategies for Success! With sessions for every interest, it was a day full of learning and growing.

The Cultural Marketplace brought an international lineup of talents to Northern Virginia's backyard. Featuring vendors such as Lost Passport Café, which sells intentional coffee; Maggio's, award-winning Mediterranean food; Thik and Juicy with Caribbean and Vietnamese fusion; Carolina Brothers with incredible BBQ; and Mama Tigre with Mexican/Indian fusion. REALTOR® UNITE was NVAR's first time having dancers, including Sadie Raye, who did a hip-hop performance; Raqs El Hab, who choreographed a Middle Eastern performance; and GRUFOLPAWA, who passionately embodied Panama's culture through dance. With both a caricature and henna artist present, the marketplace was a hit!

The DXC On-The-Go allowed attendees to share their stories and tell us what diversity and uniting meant to them. We had many Realtors stop by this feature. Creating content for our members to share was a huge priority!

The Homes Around NOVA exhibit allowed Realtors® to kick their feet back and rest while they viewed home styles in the area.

The Hall of Partners Expo was back for another year with over 60 booths and more than 200 exhibitors' staff! The aisles were packed throughout the day with realtors® who networked with Service Providers in the area.

We closed the eventful day with Happy Hour and appetizers with an international flair.
