On February 10, 2021, Zillow announced the acquisition of ShowingTime. We know this has raised concerns for many of you. We hear you and we are here for you as your trusted industry partner.

NVAR is closely following the conversation and assessing the implications. We are also in close communication with Bright MLS and industry leaders to fully evaluate the situation. Here is what we know and our commitment to you:

NVAR will work with Bright MLS leadership to ensure that your clients’ and your transaction data will be protected now and in the future. NVAR will also work with Bright MLS leadership to consider the best platform - whether it be ShowingTime or other platforms available on the market - to enable showings and will make adjustments for the benefit of our membership.

Zillow is acquiring ShowingTime. However, at this time NVAR Realtors® should not experience any difference in access, functionality or privacy protections in their use of ShowingTime. ShowingTime indicates it will continue to be available to all users regardless of brokerage. ShowingTime also indicates it will maintain its existing privacy policy, which you can review here: https://www.showingtime.com/privacy-policy/.

The US Department of Justice closely follows all developments in the real estate industry to ensure that antitrust laws are followed. It is critical that we all do our part to ensure that anticompetitive practices are not tolerated. This means strictly avoiding any conversations – in person or on social media platforms -- that discuss boycotting, price-fixing, or other restraints on trade and consumer choice.

NVAR remains focused on the challenges and opportunities facing our members. We will continue to promote the best interests of our members, ensure Realtors® remain at the center of the real estate transaction, and be your trusted partner along the way.

We hear you, we are here to support you, and we will continue to provide updates and take appropriate actions as more information becomes available.
