This course discusses the Foreign Investment in Real Property Tax Act (FIRPTA).  This course begins with a review of the basics of FIRPTA including who is subject to FIRPTA and what the tax withholding requirements are for those that are subject to FIRPTA.  This course also discusses the exemptions that are available as well as the various forms that are required when FIRPTA withholding applies.  Lastly, this course touches on the implications for buyers if the required tax is not properly withheld.
