Multiple Listing Services (MLSs) are private databases that are created, maintained and paid for by real estate professionals to help their clients buy and sell property. Bright MLS is the name of the Multiple Listing Service for Northern Virginia. Bright MLS provides subscribers with access to listing information for a larger geographic area, modern, easy-to-use systems and apps to serve your clients and run your business, and a comprehensive ecosystem of robust property information and analytics.

Bright Off-MLS Policy Resource Guide

UPDATED 4/22/2020: In accordance with NAR's Clear Cooperation Policy 8.0, Bright MLS has updated its guidance on the Office Exclusive Policy. Office Exclusive Listings may not be Publicly Marketed. Any listings that are Publicly Marketed must be entered into the MLS within one (1) business day of Public Marketing. "Public Marketing" specifically means any communication with any real estate agents or members of the public outside of the listing brokerage firm, including one-to-one communications, emails, phone calls, text, social media and online posts.

With a BrightMLS, you have access to RatePlug. RatePlug helps to deliver interactive, real-time mortgage payments with your clients. You can also share qualifying information with them. RatePlug is integrated with BrightMLS. This means you can add an interacting payment calculator and mortgage info from whatever lender you prefer straight to the listings and emails that clients get through Bright.

These monthly cost-to-own estimates are accurate, and customized with rates and products from the lenders you like to use. You can also create virtual flyers with real-time property and payment information. These can be shared on social media or sent directly to prospective buyers. Your loan officer can also create custom flyers that include mortgage information.
