About:

Having a custom home built is a great way for your client to showcase their unique wants, needs and tastes. But where does the Realtor fit into this mix? The Realtor's role may vary from region to region and builder to builder, and educating oneself on the in's and out's of such a transaction is critical to ensuring a seamless purchase for your client.

Join Michelle Lynch, of Classic Cottages and Scott Murray, of Focal Point on Wednesday, September 23rd at 11AM as they discuss the role of the Realtor in new home construction in Northen Virginia. In this session they provide an overview of both the Realtors and Builders responsibilities, provide real world examples, and give advice on the best ways Realtors can work together with Builders and Sales Reps to make a smooth and enjoyable transaction for everyone involved.

Scott Murray:

Scott Murray founded (in late 2010) and is today the president of Focal Point Homes, an infill builder that has, to date, built close to 200 homes in and near McLean. Scott grew up in Georgia and, post-high school, spent time living in UT, MA, CA, and FL before moving with his wife and children to Virginia in 2007 to fill a role as division president for a national home builder. He majored in Construction Management at Brigham Young University and later earned an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He holds a Class A contractor’s license and also a real estate broker’s license. He and his wife have four boys and a girl, ages 5 to 15.

Michelle Lynch:

Prior to joining Classic Cottages, Michelle Lynch was an independent realtor, selling over 150 new and resale homes in her first three years. Her love for new construction started in the early 2000’s when she was the Director of Marketing at Professional Warranty Service Corporation, a risk management company for homebuilders around the country. As the current Sales Manager with Classic Cottages, Michelle is a familiar, friendly face within the company and is the primary contact for agents with buyers who are looking to build with Classic Cottages. Since the company was founded in 2010, Classic Cottages has built over 175 homes as well as developed a fully-integrated in-house team of skilled architects, designers, sales, marketing, and construction professionals who are each passionate about building beautiful custom homes that meet modern lifestyle needs.
