We are pleased to announce that NVAR has hired Kristen Douglas as our new Chief Public Affairs Officer.
 
In this newly created position, Kristen will be leading our government affairs and communications teams, strategically driving external media, public and community relations and advocacy opportunities at the broader regional, state and national level. 
 
Kristen will elevate how we serve you - our members - and how we represent your business interests in the media and to government officials. She will challenge NVAR to think bigger and become the strongest industry advocacy and communications organization in the nation.
 
We are thrilled to have found Kristen through a competitive national search. She stood out for her strong strategic leadership experience in advocacy and media. Her experience includes:

• Serving as Chief of Staff to a member of Congress
• Leading state and national political campaigns
• Serving as the DC-based federal lobbyist for a Top 50 Public University
• Lobbying at the federal and state level for a significant national non-profit
• Working with the national media and much more.

Kristen is precisely the kind of candidate we were looking for to bring a higher level of strategic leadership to NVAR’s advocacy and communications. 
 
On the government affairs side, Kristen will help take our approach to national and regional government affairs advocacy, grassroots activities, and political communications to the next level. On the communication side, she will advance our strategic communications, expand NVAR’s presence in the business marketplace, strengthen media and public relations, oversee authoritative market research, and much more.
