Computer Basics I - Windows

This introductory course covers the basics of everyday computer operations. Students become comfortable with a computer and practice skills in class excercises. The first half of this course covers Windows and its file system, navigating, and system tools, as well as tips and tricks for intermediate users. The second half covers the internet and emailing listings, as well as using the MRIS Searchlite tool. The course is tailor made for the real estate professional.

Computer Basics II - The Web

This course introduces the internet and email. Emailing listings, efficient Web searches and internet tools will be discussed. Using new web-based MRIS application will also be practiced. This course is tailor made for the real estate professional and is also useful as a refresher for more advanced users.

Handheld Devices

Make full use of your new PDA or decide if you want one through the classroom's Palm Simulator. This course covers the basics of all handheld devices including Palm, Sony, and Handspring as well as Pocket PCs such as Jornada, Casio, and Compaq. The new generation of Smart phones will also be demonstrated which allow you to wirelessly search for listings on the MRIS.

PowerPoint XP

Learn the basics of creating powerful presentations using PowerPoint. Your property presentation can include a colorful CMA, school reports, and other MRIS information. Formatting presentation (slides, overheads, or copies), timing and control will be covered.

Outlook

Get organized. Set Outlook as the first program to come up on your computer in the morning, listing your appointments for the day, your to-do list, address book and more. Students will learn how to organize their day-to-day tasks efficiently, keep track of their customers, keep journals, and perform a mail merge.

Word XP

This class primarily illustrates Microsoft Word and explores important features that make it the most important and necessary tool for REALTORS®. Students will also learn how to produce letters, faxes, and labels using mail merge.

Email Listings

In this course, students will learn 5 ways to email listings from MRIS and websites. Software solutions using Adobe Acrobat and Excel will also be demonstrated as well as creating colorful, personalized listing attachments.

Digital Cameras

In this course students will learn how to find an affordable digital camera for use in property photos and self-portraits. The course will demonstrate techniques for web uploading and emailing as well as software for editing and formatting your photos. Students will also learn how to put pictures in a PowerPoint presentation.
