Purpose
The Risk Reduction Graduate (RRG™) Certification program was created for the purpose of providing REALTORS® with information, education and other means of support in reducing disputes and lawsuits.
Definitions
- RRG™ Society – All RRG™ members
- Candidate – A member of the RRG™ society that has not completed all the certification requirements
- Graduate – A member of the RRG™ society that has completed all the required courses for certification
- Member – A REALTOR® that has paid the RRG™ membership fee
- Instructor – Attorneys that teach the RRG™ courses
Instructors
- Instructors are subject to the NVAR Instructor Memorandum of Understanding and will also sign and abide by the RRG™ Instructor Contract.
- All RRG™ Courses must be written by industry related attorneys. Any exceptions to this rule must be approved by the Risk Management committee to allow a qualified Broker or other professional to write or teach a course.
- All RRG™ courses must be approved by the RRG™ committee as to the subject matter and content.
Membership
- Requirements
- To join the RRG™ Society a member must be a REALTOR®, fill out an application and pay the Annual Membership fee of $99 or a pro-rated amount of that fee for new members.
- Benefits
- All RRG™ members will receive 2 Binders, one for elective courses and one for the Core Courses. They will be invited to 2 free luncheons each year, receive the RRG™ newsletter.
- One annual Risk Management Update class will be offered at no charge to graduates each year.
- Classes that a member has paid for and taken once may be audited at no charge and not for CE credit, room permitting.
- Renewal
- The annual renewal fee of $99 is due May 1st of each year. Invoices will be sent by April 1st with a grace period of 31 days.
- All RRG™ members that have completed the certification requirements must attend the RRG™ update/ refresher course each year to remain an active member of the RRG™ society.
- Termination
- Members that have not paid annual dues or that have not taken the required update class by May 31 will be terminated as of May 31. Members that do not renew may not use the RRG™ designation or logo.
- When a member is no longer a member of NVAR resignation from RRG™ is automatic effective the same day NVAR membership is terminated.
- Reinstatement
- A lapsed membership will be reinstated upon payment of the renewal fee or prorated amount due at that time. If the member is a Graduate they must also take the required Update class.
RRG™ Courses
- All RRG™ courses are licensed by NVAR and can only be sponsored by NVAR. Any course taught outside the official NVAR curriculum will not be given credit towards the RRG™ curriculum.
- Elective courses are $75 for members, $75 for non-RRG™ members and $95 for non-members.
- Core Courses are $250.00 for all three.
- The annual update/refresher course, “Risk Management Update”, may not be used as an elective class for RRG™ certification. This course is offered at no cost to RRG™ graduates. The regular fee applies to all non RRG™ graduates.
Certification requirements
- To be an active member of the RRG™ society
- Attend and complete the 3 Core courses consisting of Conquering Contracts I, II & III and 8 RRG™ approved elective courses
Graduation
- Upon completion, member will receive a letter of completion, and a CD containing the RRG™ logo for personal use
- At the semi-annual RRG™ Graduation Luncheon all new graduates since the last luncheon will be recognized and receive a Lapel Pin, Award & Certificate.
- No member will “graduate” at the luncheon that has not completed all requirements before the day of the graduation.
- Graduation luncheons will be held 2 times per year.
