Start your Marketing Efforts Today with REALTOR® Postcards

Postcards are a great way to get your name out. This system allows you to print custom postcards directly from your computer. All of the files are pre-formatted Microsoft Word documents that include your company's logo and text boxes for you to enter your contact information.

You Will Need:

  1. A computer with Microsoft Word
  2. A printer
  3. Avery postcards #8387 (4.25 X 5.5) Avery postcards may be purchased at most office supply stores including Staples and Office Depot. A box of 200 postcards costs approximately $22.

Postcard Printing Instructions:

(Please print these instructions and read carefully)
Postcards are two-sided and each side requires its own file. You must first download the files, print the front, and then print the back. The front of each card is the same, regardless of the company you select, however the back of the card is customized with each company's logo.

  1. Select the "front" and "back" of the postcard you wish to use. Download and save both files on your computer.
  2. Open the "front" document in Microsoft Word.
  3. You now see the "front" of the postcard. Select the text boxes to change the font, color, and text, if you wish, and add your name and contact information. Save your changes.
  4. You are now ready to print the first side! Before printing on the postcard stock, print 3-5 test pages on regular paper. (You will use these test pages later on when you print the back. This way you will not waste any of your Avery stock.) If your test pages are acceptable, place the desired number Avery 8387 sheets in your printer. Go to "File" and "Print." When the printing dialog box opens, specify the number of copies you would like to print. (Remember, each page contains four postcards!) Select "Print."
  5. Open the "back" document in Microsoft Word.
  6. You now see the "back" of the postcard. Select the text boxes to change the font, color, and text, if you wish, and add your name and contact information. Save your changes.
  7. You are now ready to print the back. Place your "test" pages into the printer orienting the paper so the back of the card will print on the opposite side of the front. Use these test pages to determine the correct orientation of the paper in your printer, making sure that the back does not print on the same side as the front or upside down.
  8. Go to "File" and "Print." When the printing dialog box opens, specify only one copy. Select "Print." If the test page does not print with the correct orientation, make adjustments to the placement of your paper in the printer and print another test page.
  9. When the test print comes out correctly, you are ready to print the back of your postcards. Replace the test pages with the Avery 8387 postcards for which you have printed the front. Make sure your postcards are oriented the same direction as your "good" test page. Go to "File" and "Print." When the printing dialog box opens, specify only one copy. Select "Print." If this copy prints properly, repeat this step adjusting the number of copies to match the number of Avery 8387 sheets remaining in your printer.
  10. Label your cards and and mail them out!
