Government Affairs Committee
This committee meets monthly to discuss issues and recommend
policy to NVAR's Board of Directors. Each year the committee
prepares a legislative program to guide the lobbying efforts
on behalf of our members. They follow local, state and federal
issues which all have a huge impact on the real estate industry.
RPAC Campaign Committee
Members of the Campaign Committee join in educating the REALTOR®
membership about the Northern Virginia REALTORS® Political
Action Committee (NV/RPAC) and raising funds. RPAC protects
the business you're building. It helps ensure a business-friendly
environment and fights against excessive growth controls, over-taxation
and over-regulation.
NV/RPAC Trustees
The NV/RPAC Trustees interview candidates for public office
and review voting records in order to support business-friendly
candidates who are supportive of the real estate industry.
Legislative Bill Review
Task force members are charged with the responsibility of reviewing
relevant legislation during the General Assembly session. Upon
review, the committee makes recommendations regarding NVAR's
positions and proposes various forms of action.
