NVAR offers an outstanding selection of special events to help you make new business contacts, build your skill set, and grow your circle of real estate contacts. You are invited to most these events, which are free to our members. For our annual convention, we urge attendees to donate a bag of groceries or make a donation to the United Community Ministries. Additional events are announced through the NVAR News email blasts and the homepage.

Installation of Officers
December
A festive event that takes place each December to thank the past year’s leadership and committee volunteers and to formally install the newly-elected incoming officers and board members. New committee appointments are announced at this time, and NVAR award presentations are made. The event is followed by a cocktail reception, which is open to all NVAR members.

Legislative Reception
Spring
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Who doesn’t love to be thanked for their hard work? The legislative reception is your opportunity to thank your elected officials in person for their support of real estate-friendly legislation. Held after the Virginia Legislative Session, local and state elected officials are invited to NVAR for a cocktail reception giving you the perfect opportunity to talk shop with those who can make a difference.

Each year NVAR holds a luncheon to celebrate Fair Housing Opportunities in the Northern Virginia region, and to inform members of the public.

Appreciation Cruise
August
NVAR takes this opportunity to thank our partners, affiliates, instructors and other special guests for their support and involvement throughout the year. Each fall, this invitation-only event takes place on a Potomac River cruise during which board members and NVAR staff members express their appreciation for the contributions these individuals offer.

Economic Summit
September
This annual NVAR-sponsored conference takes place each fall at George Mason University. It features a panel of highly regarded experts speaking and answering questions about national and regional economic factors that affect the Northern Virginia real estate market. NVAR Convention & Trade Show
October
An all-day learning and networking opportunity open to all NVAR members, featuring educational break-out sessions, a keynote speaker and an extensive trade show. NVAR partners sponsor lunch and refreshments throughout the day. The annual NV/RPAC breakfast (ticketed event) kicks off the day’s events with a nationally-recognized political speaker.
